I am spending lots of time teaching around the country now, and here in South Florida. I am also working on a documentary series on integrative medicine, aimed at the healthcare profession. In addition, I am promoting my new PBS special, Longevity Tai Chi with Arthur Rosenfeld. I hope to have news of a national rollout of the show in December.
I am also continuing to write novels. Currently, I am at work on a pair of novels about the life of Lao Tze, the greatest of all Chinese sages and the primary source of Daoist philosophy as known in the West (go with the flow, may the force be with you). Recently, I have published a trio of novels redolent of Chinese martial arts, culture and philosophy. They are the apocalyptic thriller The Crocodile And The Crane, and a pair of page turners about a vigilante neurosurgeon: The Cutting Season and Quiet Teacher. These recent books have received a gratifying response from readers and critics, and garnered some awards, as you can see below. My latest novel, Quiet Teacher received 1st runner up in the Commercial Fiction category from The US Review of Books: The Eric Hoffer Award. The Eric Hoffer Award was established at the start of the 21st century as a means of opening a door to writing of significant merit. It honors the memory of the great American philosopher, Eric Hoffer, by highlighting outstanding writing as well as the independent spirit of small publishers.
